Now, I know I can get in the student council if I want to, my friends are all set on the idea of voting for me if I join the elections, but I think it's not gonna be easy since I want to do a good job and be active. So, is this valuable enough for my college application for me to work hard for? All answers are appreciated.

I was the freshman, sophomore, and junior class president and now serve as the student body president. I have some a lot in my school including meeting with the superintendent monthly and serving as the student representative for my school board. I began student council freshman year not even thinking about passing my resume. So your question of “is it worth it for college applications?” Is kind of offensive because joining SC is a huge responsibility and commitment. Yes it is a lot of work but the last thing you should be thinking about is if it looks good on your app. Join because you want to make a difference in your school, not to pad your resume. If you’re joining for the right reasons, it will be worth it.

I did it freshman year for colleges and its really not worth it UNLESS you LIKE it. I was bored out of my mind. Didn’t run this year but I did meet a lot of cool people.

@AlexHarper, Did you study for the SATs because you enjoyed it? No. So just because it is sth you enjoyed doesnt mean i have to devote half of my life to sth and NOT expect a damn increase in my chances. I love CC but judgmental people are a pain.

Lol seeing as the SAT is mandatory I did study; That’s a really poor and honestly baseless argument. Also, the rest of your post makes no sense so I’m having a difficult time responding. I’m not being judgemental, you’re being extremely sensitive. I’m just passionate about my extracurricular activities and it’s a PAIN to see people just trying to pad their resumes because it’ll increase their chances. Have a good day
