Another student damaged my daughter’s new computer. Akkkk!!! Would my homeowner’s insurance cover this? Its Sunday or I’d call the agent. Does any know?

Many policies do, however, the problem often lies in the deductible. If you have a high deductible, it may not be worth filling the claim. If you charged the computer to a credit card, see if you have some kind of extended warranty protection or accidential coverage.

Thank you. would that be through the credit card company?

Yes, I was had to have a processor (less than one year old) replaced in my d’s freshman year and since the repair exceed 60% of the value (because I have to buy HP part not generic). I learned my credit card would replace the entire CPU based on my receipt price. It just depends on what kind of warranty program if any is a benefit on your credit card, if you purchased it that way.

Since no one else has asked, I will…if another student damaged it, why aren’t you asking them to fix/replace it?

Oh, well! The poor kid is just…a poor kid! I was just trying to think outside the box to help him.
