So I contacted Dell about information regarding discounts for students when buying a laptop, and they said that only certain universities are involved with that type of program. When I asked them if Princeton was one of those universities, they told me that I would have to ask Princeton (which seems strange). In any case, for anybody who has experience with this, does going to Princeton get you a student discount from Dell? And if so, how would I go about applying it? Thanks!

I don’t think there are any student discounts, at least not that I’ve been able to find. The only difference between normal is that you can buy Dell laptops (different Latitude models, I believe) through Princeton University tech service. They are more expensive than other Dell laptops through, say Best Buy, but also a three year complete warranty (accidents included), plus all the programs you would otherwise have to purchase, etc.

When shopping for a Dell on-line, be sure that you go to the Dell University site (delluniversity.com), not the regular Dell.com site. Princeton is one of the colleges listed for discounts.

As studenta123 points out, there are 2 Dell options available directly from Princeton.

Wow I can’t believe Dell hires people just to this ^

Wait… Dell hires people to do what? I’m confused.

Just buy from Newegg… I’ve seen Yale’s “special prices”… I couldn’t believe people fall for that scam.
