<p>Data sets always offer insightful material for comparisons, the trick is getting the prospective student to consider the data in the decision making process.</p>

<p>I know I would never be able to get my daughter to look at the data sets for the colleges she was interested in. I did make a point to tell her information from those reports. I believe she was listening and did take it into account when she was making her decision.</p>
<p>Yes, it is pretty tough – raw data not nearly as appealing as slick websites or glossy viewbooks! We tried to get D to participate in a futile attempt at compiling a spread sheet so she could at least see the financial pros and cons, potential debt, admit rates, etc. of some of her potential school choices – at first, she thought we were nuts.</p>
<p>It took a little time, but level-headed practicality prevailed. Some numbers just don’t lie. In our case, the AU academic data helped demonstrate several years of solid progress. It helped seal the deal.</p>
