Student from China - Chances?

Hey all,

I'm an American-born Chinese attending an international school in China.

Looking at these few schools:

-Brown
-Northwestern
-Dartmouth
-Reed
-Amherst
-U of Chicago

The thing is, my grades aren't all so great thanks to a slacker freshman year. Grades don't like me, and I reciprocate. Thing is, I usually do well on tests, except for math - not especially my strong point. Do I still have a chance?

What do you guys think?

-Brown - Big Stretch
-Northwestern - Stretch/Match
-Dartmouth - Big Stretch
-Reed - Match
-Amherst - Big Stretch
-U of Chicago - Big Stretch

You need to add more match schools and a couple of safety schools and drop the extremely selective Ivies and near Ivies. Brown, Dartmouth, and Amherst all admit less than 15% of their applicants, and nearly all the kids have SATs and ECs like yours, or better, and better GPAs. It is highly unlikely you will be accepted by any of them.

My advice: Take a look at schools like Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, University of Michigan, and Boston University. You're much more likely to get into those schools. And, as I said above, make sure you add some safety schools.

Alright, thanks for the input!
