Student Government Problem

Hi, I was wondering about how I should list my participation in student government considering:

Freshman Year - Elected
Sophomore Year- Ran but not elected.
Junior Year - Elected
Senior Year - Elected

Does it look "bad" to colleges to have that gap? Would it serve me better to just list that I was in Student Government junior and senior year? Or should I say Freshman, Junior, and senior?

Not sure if it's of any value but I am genuinely interested in government. I plan to study business and poly sci in college. I also intend to make that clear in my application.

Thanks!

You are way over-thinking this.

I am sure it mattered to you a great deal when you were not elected for your sophomore year, but it will not matter in the slightest to the colleges and universities that you apply to.

If you were in student government in grades 9, 11 and 12, say so.

Haha, thanks Sikorsky. I’m not surprised that it seems like I am over-thinking it. I am a little too nervous about the whole process. Thank you for your response, it is indeed helpful.

Yeah, that can surely happen. The whole process can be absolutely crazy-making.

Looks fine, but don’t mention when you ran and were not elected.

Good luck with your apps!
