Do you think it's worth paying the $1500 to get the insurance? Or would your regular health insurance suffice? I don't see myself getting injured (I've never sprained an ankle, broken a bone, or anything worse than a scrape or small cut) but then again you never know. Should I waive the insurance or keep it?

Your student fees cover any trips to the student health center. The insurance is only for when you have to go somewhere else (emergency room visits, doctor’s visits during the summer when you are not on campus). If you have insurance through your parents or work then you can waive out of SHIP (outside coverage is required for waiver approval).

Oh so if my son has a cold or something, he can go to the health center and it is covered by his fees? If we have good health insurance for him, should I waive the SHIP?

Your student fees DO NOT cover any trips to the student health center, SHIP does with copay.

Does anyone know why the SHIP waiver url isn’t working atm?
