Student Health

Has anyone had experience with Student Health, Counseling, the Wellness Center, etc? Are they good, bad, unknown? Do people use it/them?

My daughter and her various roomates have utilized the health center and are very satisfied with the services. Even though we have waived the college health insurance, the most I paid was a 15.00 co pay. My daughter’s friend took advantage of the free mental health counseling that you get. She had 10 sessions at no cost. The also give you starter medications at little or no cost.

Everyone uses SHC. The walk-in services are good for getting notes for professor when you are truly sick. They are also good for immediate diagnosis and treatment, i.e getting an antibiotic when you have a bug. They have a full pharmacy and I never paid more than $10 for my prescriptions, through my insurance.

SHC also does free HIV testing, flu shots, nutrition services and more.

I have used counseling and wellness services and I am very satisfied with them. They also helped me find a counselor in the community who I have been seeing for a few months now.

Thanks! Those are helpful responses.
