Hardly a slam dunk with many levels of risk. Only for the brave investor.
Student housing as an investment has been around for decades. How is this new?
In the past most off-campus housing was owned by slumlords and local real estate companies on a small scale. Today off-campus housing has been financialized. It’s owned by large corporations and held in REIT’s that any investor can purchase.
It’s now an asset class just like large cap stocks, small cap stocks, timber, etc.
