Student ID Card

When my daughter attended UNC, her Student ID was a "One Card"....tied to her savings and checking accounts. The card could be used as a debit card on her bank accounts and as a swipe card on her meal plan, to access her flex dining dollars, or to draft her expense balance at the laundry, printing facility, book store health clinic, and other campus services facilities. But...they could only use the debit card features if the bank account was at Wachovia. (Wachovia Chairman was UNC alum...I'm sure that had something to with it.)

So...does anyone know how it works at Texas? Do they link the Student ID to bank accounts...if so, which banks are accepted? Any info or links appreciated.

Your student ID is not linked to your bank account- it can only be used to swipe into your dorm, use your dine-in dollars, and to use bevo bucks at local merchants. Your only option would have to be get a debit card from your local bank or you can start up an account at the UFCU.
