Student life at Cal Poly Pomona

The school is pretty and there are a lot of nice people there who care about their education. The only downside is the housing, avoid if you can, really terrible atmosphere, you feel like you are being spied on by the RAs. But if you can live off-campus with some friends and not commute too far, it is a great school.

Are the RAs as bad at the village? :<

I have heard not, but I don’t know for sure.

Are you at the suites right now? I lived there for a week before and it was decent, though the wifi was horrible +__+

Im nervous now that i am going to live in the suites.

hey @xxcapital do you think the suites are worth it? it’s so expensive and im a transfer student. im thinking of applying to the village apartments instead since theyre super close by and no supervision like living on campus

@kaislinn91 depends, I have never seen what the rooms of the villages look like in person before and their website’s gallery is broken for me :(. If you can afford at least $12,000 a year for it yes! If you’re on a tight budget and want to avoid loans or something, do the village. Though I’m not sure how the village goes since they have a requirement of “21 years old OR 35 quarter units completed”. It is so vague since I technically do have 35 quarter units completed but as a transfer student but I am not even close to 21 yet. As far as I remember, the villages do have supervision so it’s not like you can turn up with alcohol 24/7, haha

@xxcaptial, yeah i dont have $12,000 haha. I would have to take loans unfortunately. I’m both those requirements so I think I’ll choose the village. I’m 23 so I think I might feel out of place with younger kids in the suites lol. thanks for the reply!

Yeah, the Village might be okay. Just avoid on campus housing, you can get busted for any minor thing and get kicked out, great way to totally wreck your year and more. Word to the wise.
