Not the parties, but is there a prevalent gay community at Bucknell? This is a LARGE deciding factor for wherever I go to school, just wondering in case i get in which i have no idea if i will. thankee a lot!

From what I've heard from bucknell posters, it sounds like the school is pretty conservative, and doesn't have much of a gay community, at least not a public one. But thats just what ive heard, it couldve been a crappy source.

bucknell is indeed conservative compared to most top-tier liberal arts colleges. does that mean the school is conservative? not at all... because it isnt. a sizable majority of the student body leans democrat and those who dont tend have a lot more in common with arnold arnold schwarzenegger than pat robertson.

with that said, there certainly is a visible, openly gay community at bucknell. its size? you may want to ask lgbt office here, because im not sure i could hazard a good guess. its level of acceptance? 'accepted' by some, 'embraced' by others.

so while bucknell probably wouldnt be my first choice if i were looking for a large gay community, its not a bad choice, either.

From what I've heard, Wesleyan is very very very accepting.
