Student Loan

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of any student loans that I can receive without a co-signer and with no credit history? I have already looked into getting financial aid from my school (top 20 in the country), but the officer says it's HIGHLY unlikely due to my parents' income.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

No. You can get federal direct student loans without a cosigner or credit check, but the maximum for a freshman is $5500. Other than that, any private loan will require a cosigner with a good credit history.

Does everyone qualify for a federal direct student loan? Because my parents’ income is high.

extra info Long story short, I will be a senior.

Yes, everyone that is eligible to file FAFSA can get a direct student loan. It will all be unsubsidized if you do not have fiancial need according to FAFSA.

Oh, ok. Thanks for your help.

If anyone has any more information that can help me, please, lemme know. Thanks.

What’s going on?

what do you mean by: I will be a senior? Are you a junior in college? or high school?

how much will your parents pay?

How much do you need to borrow each year?

As mentioned above, YOU can only borrow a small amount…not enough to put much of a dent in a private college cost.

If you’re trying to borrow a large amount of money each year, that’s a bad idea. No college is worth that…not even a top 20 school.

How much do you think you’ll be earning after you graduate from college?

OP, Please review the info in the pinned thread at the top of this forum.
