@MaxedOutMom, everyone on this site is trying to help you; it sounds like you already know you will be in trouble financially so, I will answer your question:
We took out a Parent Plus Loan of $5k per child and only once per child. We have 3 children.
Each child had to work that summer to pay off that loan. We helped a little but not by much. That’s the most we would ever consider taking out for each child. It was paid off, before the year was up, by each child.
Anything more than that would have been too expensive for our family. So far, so good, I have 2 college grads with no debt. One more to go! Their first years were spent getting to know the campus and the routine. No other “connections” were made until their junior and senior years. The posters here are very knowledgeable and have great experience in giving good information. They are not here to chastise you or to make judgments but are here to help.
I honestly believe that you wont be able to find a private lender who will cover that amount for you.
