Student loans!

<p>Until you recieve the complete financial aid offer and know the true numbers (and whether they will cover your tuiton and fees), you should be concerned. </p>

<p>Cost of Attendance = $54k.</p>

<p>Miami meets on average 88% of need. Thus, with an efc of zero (assuming your appeal for independence is granted, which has a low probability), means the max aid would be $47.5k</p>

<p>Included in that $47.5k of need, will be loans and work study, perhaps totaling $5-9k.</p>

<p>Thus, total grant might be ~$38-42k (of which $14k is your scholarship). You will have to come up with the balance of ~$12-16k/year to attend.</p>

<p>Times four years = $60k in debt, which is way too much, IMO.</p>

<p>Unless you were a ward of the court at one time, I am surprised that you are automatically independent. I would make 100% sure you qualify for independent without a dependency override.</p>
