Ah, dstark, you’re being very grumpy. Why would you bother attacking this? With 872 views so far, somebody is reading and it is interesting fodder for some of us. And what are you suggesting it says about those of us who are posting?

Re your singling out of Wake Forest, Vanderbilt and Duke, it is true that they come off very well in this small sampling found on sparknotes. So also do colleges like Notre Dame, Princeton, Dartmouth, Emory, etc. All have been commented on extensively on CC as places that have a higher than average dedication to undergraduate education. The sparknotes data, modest as it is, supports this view. Not a big deal, but the student responses reinforce the stereotypes. And if the data did not support the popular view, then this would be potentially even more interesting.

As for the thread’s topic, if you don’t like it, then that’s fine. Go elsewhere as there are plenty of good topics or, better yet, create one yourself (and hopefully about something other than politics!).
