Student savings on FAFSA? PLEASE HELP!!!

Okay, I just submitted the FAFSA, and I have a question regarding the question where they me 'list the value you have in savings, cash, or checking accounts." I only have $600 in my savings account, and all $600 is from a scholarship. The scholarship organization gave me a check, with which I just put it in this savings account.

The FAFSA said that, for this particular question, "do not include student financial aid." So I just put $0 for this question, because all $600 of my savings account was a scholarship, aka student financial aid.

Is this right? I mean, did I make a mistake by putting $0 instead of $600? I'm getting worried now....please help!!! Thank you!

I would say it was the right thing to do since it was the truth.

Besides, $600 isn’t exactly going to make or break your FA package.

I’d also consider scholarships as financial aid…that org must have distributed them extra early or was it for spring semester? Don’t forget to also report it to your school, if you haven’t already!
