Student shot outside Centennial Hall on 1/25/10

It happened just outside the Centennial Hall Dorm at 11pm last night. The 19 year old male freshman student is expected to recover. The 2 black male shooting suspects are still on the loose as of noon today. A google search will list numerious stories about the incident.

This appears to be one really random incident. I hope the student recovers quickly.

I had also read in the Minnesota paper that the same two men were involved in a robbery earlier in the evening.

Yeah, this is just awful. The two suspects should have already been caught. Nevertheless I still have interest in attending UM-Twin Cities but this definately should would raise security concerns for current students.

stuff like this happens at every college so it’s fine (some are just not announced so publicly). it’s rare though so you shouldnt be worried about attending.

Well, I wouldn’t say it’s fine, but I have to agree that it shouldn’t be enought to deter a student from attending.
