Just discovered a website called Student Universe that offers discounts on air tickets for college students and faculty. Has anyone used this website with success?

Yep. I've used it (almost) everytime for my D and referred several other kids. It doesn't work all the time , and it is still cheaper for my D to drive to Little Rock and catch Southwest to DFW but it works better than anything else I've tried. Memphis/Hartford, Memphis/DFW, Houston/Madrid, Austin/(the airport that serves the Claremont consortium . I have forgotten the name.).

Yes, I've used it - couldn't find the same prices elsewhere.

My son used it once and got a good deal.

I checked Student Universe for my kids' flights home in December. For DS, the cost through Student universe was in the $450 range but through the airline it was $219. So...make sure you check the airline websites too to be certain that you are getting a good deal.

^ ^ Absolutely. I used it for international flights and it was way cheaper than all of the discount sites as well as the airline sites.

Glad to know it is a reliable place to include in the battle to find reasonable airfares. A year ago, when we started the college search process, who would have known how seriously we would have to consider the transportation budget. Surely these costs will determine how far students can go away from home in the future.
