<p>Hey, I looked all over College Confidential, but didn't see a thread for students accepted to U Miami's 2012 HPM program. I wanted to start one, so students who've been accepted can "meet" each other! I'm so excited for this program!</p>

<p>can you guys see if i have a chance at getting in? I attend a public high school with a graduating class of 1340 which is known for being very competitive. I scored a 2340 on my SAT (800 reading, 800 writing, 740 math). On math 2, i scored a 760 and on biology i scored a 660. I was secretary in key club and made it to hosa nationals last year. I also had an internship at an endocrinology office. Here are my extracurriculars.</p>

<p>• Accepted into a highly-competitive school program for dedicated medical students
• Rotate into a myriad of health occupations to develop an understanding of the medical community
• Shadowed medical professionals in fields of NICU, ER, EP Lab, Day Surgery, Surgicare, Pediatric ICU, Orthopedics, Physical Rehabilitation, Orthodontics, and Dentistry
• Hospitals Included: Plano Presbyterian Hospital, Children’s Hospital at Legacy, Plano Baylor Hospital, Plano Baylor Heart, Medical Center of Plano, and numerous private practices
Student Congress – Health and Safety
• A group of students determined to ensure the safety of the student body
• Nurse Appreciation Day, First Aid Kits, etc.
• Biggest Project: Aided in planning and running the Carter Blood Drive at Plano Senior High (largest blood drive in a America annually)</p>

<p>• Volunteered an additional 30 hours for membership; 12 projects annually</p>

<p>Oh I was also in student congress on the health and safety committee and qualified for a national health care issues examination. UM is my top choice and I would really like to know my chances of getting in. I forgot to mention I’m in the top ten percent and my gpa is a 3.75 (unweighted) and a 4.13 (weighted). I got 5s on english language, us history, and world history. I am currently taking ap bio, ap calc bc, and ap english lit.</p>
