I am high school junior, and I have got a few schools in mind - Georgetown, UC Berkeley, and UCLA.
What are the students like at Georgetown? Are they really preppy? Are they snobby? I thought since a big part of it was the whole international feel and the DC atmosphere that it would not be like that, but I have seen recently that people at Georgetown are preppy and snobby... Do these kids all come from little Northeastern prep schools? Are they disgruntled Ivy-league rejects? Are they all going to return home to take over the firm in Greenwich? -These are pretty extreme generalizations, but you get my idea.
I live in South Orange County in Southern California, so I have definitely been around a bunch of privileged kids, but I feel like because I lived in North Carolina until I was 10, and my parents have raised me differently from the kinds of parents in So. Cal, I am a lot more down-to-earth and way less concerned with dress and style and stuff.
Will Georgetown kids look down on me because I am a "Californian?" The east coast schools have a certain prestige, and there is a lot more tradition and there is a different attitude over there, so I don't know if I will fit in. What do you think?
