I’m not a Wake student so can’t comment directly…but I will say that Wake students were by far the friendliest students of all the NC colleges I visited a couple years back (including Davidson, Duke, UNC, and others). The friendliness and helpfulness of the student body was something that definitely impressed me.

What a bummer.

I am a Wake Student - and I disagree with article. There is definetely drinking on campus - and there are people who d fit the profile of Alex’s description. However, there are alot of people at Wake that ARE NOT elitist. I for one, am a non-greek studio art major and I LOVE LOVE LOVE Wake. I feel that people here accept you for who you want to be. I also disagree with the article’s academic statement! I know that a great number of students here actually study like crazy -I for one have only had a one or two classes that i could pass off with an A if i did the bare minimum…

I’m withholding full judgment until I see the second part of the article this week. Offhand, I’ll say that I think that many of the problems listed are not unique to Wake Forest, nor are they particularly big problems at Wake. Also, having been there last year, its easy to find criticisms three weeks before graduation when you’re so close that you can taste it except that you have these papers and exams to get through. Nothing is presented in its best light right before exam week.
