Wow, good thing his roomies really care about him, egad, that was a depressing read

Yeah, person is missing for 6 weeks, and now they make a joke of it

sigh

Y'know what I'm thinkin'? I'm thinkin' that given that tomorrow is April 1, maybe there's something not quite serious about this article? Hmmm?

Um, it actually says April Fool in the mast.

Funny, though.

Very Good. Sorry it had to be you CGM.

except... it's really not funny. I thought this thread was going to be about the missing student at TCNJ

Here is the com, plete April Fool's issue.
http://www.dailycardinal.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogsection&id=20&Itemid=57

well, april fools i get, but with kids missing, it was just mean, and think if your child was missing and someone made fun like that

sorry, some jokes are not funny

Madison was the site of a famous fake missing student case just two years ago--so it is funny.

http://www.answers.com/topic/audrey-seiler

its not funny because when real people go missing, it involves real families

how about a story about a dead baby..hahaha

read these if you still think missing teens is funny

i have sent a letter to the newspaper complaining about the joke

it was truly tasteless, with a real college student missing

Guess we can cross you off The Onion subscription list.

I am sure the Cardinal staff will be duly chastened. Please forward me their reply, if any.

I like the onion just fine, but timing in this world is everything

I student is missing in the bahamas, another was missing, and found dead, a student is currently missing

As a mother, i find the joke insensative and cold

I read some of the other stuff, it was okay, not really funny, but eh

Very not funny situation to make jokes about.

My heart goes out to the family of the missing TCNJ student. I hope somehow he is found safe.

Most UW students have never even heard of the College of NJ. I'm sure they were thinking about the two year anniversary of Audrey Seiler.

perhaps, but considering these are newspaper people, and this missing student is in the news, ya gotta wonder

The story has not made the Madison papers nor the Seattle papers. Not really big news yet for most of the US.

CNN Greta Sustern Show covering TCNJ John Fiocco...missing student ....homicide investigation- 10-11 PM East Coast ............
Major News in NJ and Phila area !

A poster on another forum I frequent is a friend of the family of the missing TCNJ student. I think the April Fools missing student post was in poor taste and not humorous under any circumstances.

Here is an update of some info regarding the missing student I found on another thread

Blood found from missing student

Forensic tests have confirmed that blood found in a trash bin on The College of New Jersey campus in Ewing this week is from John Fiocco Jr., the 19-year-old freshman missing since early Saturday, law enforcement sources said last night

In the Fiocco case, investigators may search a landfill in lower Bucks County, Pa. A portion of the landfill, in Tullytown, Pa., has been sectioned off to prevent more trash from being dumped there, a source said.

Officials at the company that hauls trash from the campus, Midco Waste Systems, and the landfill operator, Waste Management, could not be reached for comment.
