As a side note about USC in response to a comment about about the "type of people" at USC:

I attended 'SC for a year and there are SO many different types of people there. Sure, you have your conservative preps in the business school and somewhat materialistic and beautiful Southern Californians in the greek scene. But keep in mind that we are also talking about California and Los Angeles--there are many liberal viewpoints at the school. In fact, I would have to say that the campus is evenly divided between liberals and conservatives. Moreover, the ethnic, cultural, and international diversity is huge. Plus, USC has many different schools within the university: Arts & Sciences, Business, Film, Communications, Engineering, Architecture, Music, Theatre, Public Policy, which means that people also have a wide range of academic interests.

In short, USC has many, many different types of people. If you are considering the school, you should not be put off by the "privileged/conservative/materialistic stereotype."
