<p>Some schools are extremely stats-oriented in their admissions procedures, and others are not. FA, especially in mid-range schools, depends on the SAT scores, nothing else. Scholarships often depend on them as well.</p>
<p>Still, if you can't get over this SAT score hurdle, you can find other ways. LACs are known to look holistically at candidates and so your GPA and activities may overcome weak SAT scores. As has been pointed out a couple of times already, several really good schools don't require SATs or the ACT. Concentrate on them.</p>
