Is anyone familiar with the program? Is it a well regarded program, or is it just something kids take on the side/minor in? How many people major in art every year? My daughter is an artist and has been involved with art all her life. She definitely plans a career in art, but has other interests too, like languages and linguistics. She would like to double major, but art is extremely important to her. Are there any internship opportunities in art (she is particularly interested in communication design and animation)?? We visited Brandeis last month and D loved it. It seems like a good fit socially and academically, but we are not sure about the art. The program seems focused on painting, but no classes in graphic design or computer art (unless we missed something). She is worried that the program is too small/not enough variety in classes. Any advice appreciated.

My daughter graduated as a double major in studio art and art history from Brandeis and is currently attending graduate school. The art program is very well regarded and they offer a highly rated post-bac program, however it is a painting and sculpture program primarily. You can visit the art department website to look at the range of courses.
