Study abroad after undergraduate

I’m graduating with a bachelor’s degree in May and I’m looking for opportunities to study at a university in south america or spain as a non-degree seeking student. i simply want to take some classes for a semester to improve my spanish and experience living abroad for an extended period of time. does anyone know if any university abroad would accept me as a non-degree seeking student for a semester?

I do not have direct info on those countries, but I would wager it would be easy, perhaps even free, to register as a non-degree student. You should not fear simply going and trying, it will lead to a great adventure regardless of what you get.

Hm, can you actually do that? be a non-degree student I mean? That’s such big opportunity if you ask me.

Why won’t you take a degree course? It feels like a waste of time to take a non-degree abroad if you ask me.

I’m not sure how easy it would be to take odd courses at undergrad level once you’ve already got a degree, at least in Spain (I know nothing about how South American universities are structured).

More practical options might be:

  1. Apply to do a Masters degree in something which which help your long term career plans; your current level of Spanish would need to be pretty good, and you'd be looking at 1-2 years not just a semester.
  2. Do a language course, not necessarily at a university. There are plenty of language schools in Spain.

What level is your Spanish at now?

Are you hoping to get a student visa to go with it?

Argentina will let you stay 90 days before you have to have a visa, and they have a recognized Spanish Language Cert:

You can sign up for Spanish classes at the local university.
