There's this study abroad program that I'm interested in for next spring. It is basically a semester of a language class and research and independent study at an institution in Europe. I already have two years of research experience but this opportunity is too good not to apply to.
Is it worth possibly staying an extra semester in school for this? The reason being is that I would miss out on taking some necessary electives because of how research intensive the program in.
I may have to take an additional semester because I declared a bio major a little late in the game/not having federal aid in the summer but I've always wanted to go out of the country to study.
Will this reflect negatively on my app to grad schools...staying longer to study abroad?
