Study abroad and grad school

<p>There's this study abroad program that I'm interested in for next spring. It is basically a semester of a language class and research and independent study at an institution in Europe. I already have two years of research experience but this opportunity is too good not to apply to.
Is it worth possibly staying an extra semester in school for this? The reason being is that I would miss out on taking some necessary electives because of how research intensive the program in.
I may have to take an additional semester because I declared a bio major a little late in the game/not having federal aid in the summer but I've always wanted to go out of the country to study.
Will this reflect negatively on my app to grad schools...staying longer to study abroad?</p>

<p>I studied abroad in college and it was one of the best experiences of my life. If you can afford it, I would definitely take advantage of it.</p>

<p>It won’t reflect badly on your app, and depending on what you are planning to do, it may make you more competitive.</p>
