Study abroad/application?

So my main interest is French (taken up to level 5, taking level 6 next semester, did a French immersion program at Concordia Language villages, marked it as my major selection on the applications).

This year I'm taking Le Grand Concours (level 5 - in March), and then ~2 weeks later I'm leaving to study abroad in France for 5 weeks. Since this hadn't occurred yet and wasn't (and still isn't) totally finalized, I didn't include it on my application. I have a phone interview about it tomorrow and stuff. When my plans are more finalized, should I write to the colleges I applied to and talk more about my French interest? (Stupidly, I forgot to include the CLV French immersions program on my application, can I talk about that as well? - something along the lines of "my interests in French, along with attending CLV French immersion after 10th grade, I am planning on studying abroad for 5 weeks from (date) to (date) along with taking Le Grand Concours exam on March 8.") Is that acceptable?

Bump - anyone?

Yes, I would definitely notify them, it seems quite important to your application and to you. So go ahead.

Ok, thanks. How should I go about formatting the letter/what should I say?

Format it like a business letter. Include what you forgot to put in last time: explain your interest in French and tell them exactly what your plans are for the future with the study abroad thing. Ask them to take these new developments into consideration. And then thank them. Short and sweet.
