Study abroad at HKU or CUHK?

Dear all!
I have the opportunity to go and study abroad and I would love to do so in Hong Kong. I'm doing a physics major (Energy and Sustainability) and a social science (politics/law/economy) minor. I have the choice to go to either Hong Kond university or the Chinese University of Hong Kong for one semester (September - December 2011). Do you guys have any experiences with these universities? For me both the cultural experience as well as the academic challenge are important. I am also interested to see the nature of Hong Kong and the mainland China.
What are your thoughts/suggestions?

Is anyone of you perhaps enrolled at one of these universities or has been there?

I have some friends who studied abroad at HKU during the 2009-2010 school year and I also have friends who go to HKU. The friend who studied abroad there said that it was much harder than the American university/college system, which is assumed, but he did say that it was a very good experience. Based off of what I’ve heard from these friends of mine, HKU is better for their business majors more so than majors in the science field. I do not know much about CUHK. By the way, are you an Asian American?
I’ll reply back if you have anymore questions.

If HKUST is an option, I would go for HKUST. But if HKU and CUHK are your only choices, then HKU, I would DEFINITELY say is the better choice

I’m looking at CUHK for journalism. I’m a Chinese adoptee living in the United States applying as an international student.

Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.87-3.9something unweighted (somewhere around there)
SAT: 2040 CR 640 M 630 W 770
AP: Language Arts and Composition and US History - 5s on both.
EC: Great ECs - president of a human rights club in my school, published in national news website, interned at online livestreaming network over the summer, and more.

Also, is there anything I should know about the admissions process? I can’t find much information.
