Yes! I recently finished a month long summer study abroad session. It was beautiful and full of life and amazing, I highly recommend such an experience! I studied abroad in Florence, Italy with my local CC which has language courses through the ACCENT study abroad program (<also a partner with UCEAP aka all UCs check it out), so i was able to study alongside fellow community college students, international students from all around europe, and other UC students (mostly from UCI, i live in orange county). It was so rewarding in just a general sense that sometimes i feel as though I cheated by getting college credit for my language course. I knew i needed college courses in summer to be able to transfer in two years, so if you have time try to save up and look into summer programs it worked out fantastically in my experience. Also, language classes were offered on all levels so if you someone like me and find yourself in a place where you had not necessarily planned to be in for a long period of time, you can take an introductory class and learn most things with everyday interaction and living. Basically, all the CC programs have little to no requirements, like be 18 years old and responsible none academic which i think is awesome that all people and all ages are welcome. Ok I’m rambling but hope this is of interest to you!

I’m a freshman at UCB and I’m planning on going to Madrid this summer and then study for a semester in the Netherlands next fall. I might do even more after that. I’m super excited about all the possibilities and want to hear people’s stories!
