Study Abroad for Engineering Students

Can people comment on whether students in engineering have been able to study abroad, specifically in France? Coming in with some AP credits (Calc/US History/etc.) so that may make it easier. Would like to go abroad Fall of junior year if possible.

Any comments on specific programs would be great!

Can’t give you first-hand experience, but here are some relevant links to explore: [International Programs Division of Engineering Lafayette College](International Programs · Engineering · Lafayette College)

Typically, students in Engineering study abroad in St. Louis University, Madrid, Spain; Jacobs University, Bremen, Germany; and University of Auckland, New Zealand. There is a good number of students that go to each of these programs (probably 20+ in each program). Engineering students go study abroad in the second semester, sophomore year. In each of these programs, there is one faculty member from Lafayette that go with the students.

You might be able to go abroad anywhere else if you are ahead in your classes. I cannot give you the accurate information so you might have a better luck trying to get an answer from the study abroad office. Here’s the link for it: [Study Abroad Lafayette College](http://studyabroad.lafayette.edu/)

you should be able to contact people in the office, their email are on the right side of the page. However, the campus is closed for the week due to hurricane Sandy.

Thanks for the info.

It sounds like study abroad specifically in France for engineering students is not typical?
