Hi!

This is my first post here, so please be kind:)

I am a high school student in the U.S., with Japanese descent, and I really want to study in Japan as an undergrad. My Japanese skills are not up to par, so I will be focusing to apply in the degree programs in English.

I'm specifically interests in Waseda University's SILS program, as well as the Global30 Program, particularly for University of Tokyo.

I have a question about stats. In the U.S., I go to a prestigious high school (mentioned quite often on CC, actually!). My unweighted GPA is sub 3.0, closer to a 2.8. However, my weighted GPA is a 3.75. I am an underclassmen (but am not a freshman). I know my grades alone are not well. However, I have taken standardized tests, and I have gotten over 2000 on my SAT, as well as 700+ on two SAT IIs. (I really don't want to specify my stats too much.) I also participate in a fair amount of extracurriculars as well.

I would like to know if I have a chance at Waseda, or even Uni of Tokyo! I know the criteria for admission for programs that are taught in english are much different from regular Japanese admissions. If anyone has experience applying to these, or can provide insight, feel free to comment. I'll appreciate all feedback!
