As a transfer student, our oldest didn’t have time to do study abroad for an entire semester and stay on track to graduate in time.
She instead opted for a 3 week summer course with one of her favorite professors, at a National Park here in the states. Then, she opted for a 3 week winter break course with another favorite professor in South America.
Since these were straight-forward university courses offered during the summer session and winter break session, it was all very, very easy re: credit hours, cost, & expectations, plus there was a known university professor and TAs leading both trips.
