Hi, I'm a college junior, but I do not plan to study abroad. Will I be seriously disadvantaged for job interviews and grad school applications?

Oh, I don't think so -- unless you're looking into Grad studies in International Studies or something. I'm a big fan of study abroad for it's own sake, but I don't think it's a disadvantage not to have it on your resume.

My concentrations are basically American-based (public policy). I think having experience in places, such as NYC, Washington DC and Chicago will look better on my resume than lying around in France. lol

tenisghs - for some students, study abroad is very enriching. For others (from my first-hand observation in my own generation and in the current generation) it is a dilatory waste of time or a disappointing and frustrating one. It is NOT a requisite; not to worry. You are right to focus on what YOU want to do, what seems enriching for your particular interests.
