Study Abroad Programs in Taiwan?

I was really looking into some summer study abroad programs in Taiwan however I can't seem to find much. Does anyone know any accredited programs there?

Also, I am currently a senior in high school but i WILL be entering college in the fall - Does this still make me eligible? I also do NOT plan on majoring in the language and I recognize that most of these programs are based on languages HOWEVER I do plan on minoring/getting more exp in my mandrian. Is this okay?

Did you check your local rotary club? It varies from club to club, so I can’t give you a definitive answer. A club in California could offer it, but one in Texas may not. I know for a fact that the district in Central New York offers it, though. With the Rotary, however, it is competitive, though. So, you may be fighting for a seat if you’re in a very populated area. Here, there about 60 kids fighting for 25 seats this year for the year long exchange. I’m not sure about the summer exchange, though.

Whether you major in the language or not doesn’t matter with most programs, and going into college the next year shouldn’t be a problem unless the dates clash. The only issue that may arise (it did with me) is that according to the Department of State, you must be under 18 1/2 at the time of departure. If you’re older than that, you can’t be classified as an exchange student. This is the cut off age for most programs. The only exception that I’ve found is studying abroad at Universities and going into Thailand through AFS (for what ever reason).

Sorry that I couldn’t help more; best of luck!

If you need help finding your local district, I’ll be happy to help.
