I am going to be a junior at a university in NYC. I really want to study abroad in London for spring semester. The problem is that spring semester is when most finance firms hold their interviews and we all know how important it is to get an internship junior year.

It's already too late to go abroad fall semester and I'm not sure if my school will allow me to go abroad senior year.

Any suggestions? Does studying in London hurt my chances in getting a good internship (in NYC)?

Almost all banks have a separate/recruiting session for juniors studying abroad. Even if they don't, simply call them and let them know you're going abroad, and try to schedule an interview earlier.

Email the HR contact that does your school's recruiting and inform him/her about your plans to study abroad in the Spring, express your interest, and ask what THEY want you to do about the application process.

In any case, you're in London so it'll be easy -- all the bulge bracket banks have big offices in London.
