Hey friends,

Studying abroad was one of the best decisions, There is no type of text learning that can come to the learning, you acquire through travel and hands on experience, Choose the country where you can study that has a history, culture, and people that interest you. My favorite moment in the day was coming home and having a conversation with my host mother about various world issues and gaining a new perspective on things. Many students are concerned about the cost of studying abroad, but sometimes it's less expensive than a semester at your current college or university.

Thanks

So true. Great opportunities abound, altho not all. Simply being somewhere else does not guarantee great learning. Absent genuine planning and execution, these can often be mere monetary boondoggles. The generic higher ed “call” to travel is becoming a real racket, having much to do with generating travel fees and tuition revenues with too often little in academic return.

btw, here’s the magic of study abroad … it need not have any connection to one’s undergrad semesters and experience. For many serious students, it can be a distraction and an enormously expensive one, paying room, board, tuition, expenses, travel, etc. Doing it during summer, before, after school can often be a far more affordable and worthy learning experience. And let’s not forget mission ops, remembering that is a Christian forum, lending different meaning to “call.”
