Study Abroad

Hi! I’m going to college this fall outside of my home country and I was wondering if any of you guys who have or had studied abroad would kindly give me tips or life hacks as a newbie in another country?

Knowing your home country & the country you are going to will help posters give better info/ tips!

Enjoy every second of it! Take pictures but don’t take too many where you are going to miss out on the beauty of the new country. Go to all the touristy places, but also enjoy the non-touristy spots because I found that that was the best place to visit. Be aware, but don’t be overly cautious about being somewhere new and try anything new! You are going to love it and wish you never returned, but it will be an experience you will forever cherish!

Take a language class before you start! My sister wanted to go to university in Spain so she ended up taking a Spanish immersion class with EF International Language Campuses before her university started and loved it!

Get out and meet the locals, try not to isolate, learn a bit of the language, consider eriting a blog it eill force you to go out, do things, meet people, stay connected to friends and family because it can feel lonely at times being so far aeay from home. Travel if is within the budget, you can do so very inexpensible if planned out well.
