I don't currently attend NYU but I'm a junior in high school who is currently doing research on some different schools and NYU definitely appeals to me. So, I was looking at the study abroad programs they list on their website, and I was just curious as to whether students are excluded to only those programs, or are they allowed to study abroad through a different school or program. I'm asking because I'm also interested in John Cabot University, which is an American school located in Rome. I was thinking that I might prefer to go to a school in the states, and then study abroad in Rome for a year. NYU doesn't have any study abroad programs in Rome, but would I be able to go to John Cabot for a year and still get credit for the classes I take there? Thanks!

you could if you get it approved through your advisor etc. however, nyu is never happy about you spending tuition dollars elsewhere, so they will probably be very picky about accepting those credits.

if you're interested in italy, nyu's campus at la pietra in florence can't be beat. it's the biggest of all of the study abroad sites, and classes count (financially too) just as they would if you were in ny.

someone i know went to la pietra. she loved it
