Study Abroad

So im a freshman right now but im trying to plan out my study abroad for my junior year. The only thing that is holding me back is if studying abroad might take a hit on my GPA (im going to applying to law school).

Has anybody who has studied abroad tell me how they felt the grading system abroad compared to Berkeley's? Did you feel you courses abroad were easier? Harder?

Thanks guys

if you don't mind, i'm going to add my own semi-related question to this thread:

how feasible is it for a transfer student to study abroad? i'll be going in as a junior, probably a social welfare/rhetoric major (which are "creampuff," aren't they?)

rhetoric is DEFINTELY NOT a "creampuff" major. Besides the sciences/engineering, rhetoric, english, and philosophy are definetly the hardest majors.

But does anybody have any experience with study abroad?

Thanks

Your GPA for most (not all) study abroad institutions won't count into your undergrad GPA. It's basically "pass/no pass" for the whole semester.

If you are worried about your GPA, don't fret They don't normally count.

Thanks for the response.....But do the grades appear on your transcript even though they dont factor into your GPA?

Uh, why would it take a hit on your GPA? Perhaps at some schools, but at others getting good grades is easy abroad.

Anyway, if it does, you have to make a decision about what is more valuble- time abroad or possibly going to a better law school.
