Study Abroad?

I'm currently a freshmen at clarkson university and I was thinking of doing a study abroad next year. First i don't even know if my school will let me do one as a sophomore but assuming they do should i do it?

I plan on applying as a junior to top 20 ranked schools. I don't have a college gpa yet but my h.s. gpa was around a 2.0-2.5 because i spent time doing research at RPI and I published in a high profile European journal (for ppl who don't that).

So should I do it or not (assuming that i can)?

i need help people bump...

Will you get credit and/or grades for the classes you'll take abroad?

Also, do you plan on filling all your applications from another country?

My personal feeling on study abroad is to wait until your junior year, especially if you're considering transferring. I don't think it'll actually HURT you but you want your schedule to be somewhat strenuous, and I doubt it would be as strenuous abroad as you could make it at Clarkson.

thanks for the info guys. to bourne yes i will get credit for my classes abroad and i probably would fill the application from abroad, but that won't matter because i hold a greencard.

Doesn't matter if you hold a green card or not, I'm just asking because it's going to be a big hassle sending all your transcripts and LOR's while you're in another country?

The necessary tax info for fin aid ... Just lots of problems.

yea that would be problem, but i could do it second semester next year, which would mean that I could get my apps done and sent (but it wouldn't be factored obviously). I think that would be ideal.
