Study Abroad

I am trying to decide where to go abroad next year. I am an international business major focusing on business logistics. I am learning German and would like to become fluent but I am also interested in Dutch (very similar to German) and Czech (really hard language). I go to Penn State and I am deciding between going to these places....
Maastricht, Netherlands
Vienna, Austria
Freiburg, Germany
Berlin, Germany
Prague, Czech Republic
I have never been to any of these places. Where would you suggest going? Thanks.

I might be a little biased when it comes to deciding - since I am from Germany myself - but here it goes:

Maastricht

I have friends who study in Maastricht and who thoroughly enjoy the international flair of the city. They say, however, that they hardly ever spend any time in the city and usually take some trips to Germany or even France in order to have fun.

Vienna

How could you not want to go to Vienna? Beautiful city, with an interesting history and a very active international community. Still, the time I spend there (especially when visiting the University of Vienna) just didn't do the trick for me. Vienna, as beautiful as it is, still has a very conservative side to it.

Freiburg

This is where the best of the best study. Freiburg is known as "student city" - for it is mainly populated by college students. Unfortunately it's a rather small city - offering plenty of space for study parties - but not necessarily to have a great time in terms of partying.

Berlin

Ah! Yes! Berlin! Metropolis. 4 million people living in central Berlin. The Berlin Wall. The Holocaust Monument. The Love Parade. It's all those things - the feeling that you can never be quite sure whether you are wandering through a historic town or a modern 21st century city - makes Berlin very special. I think you'd benefit from spending your time abroad in Berlin the most.

Prague

Definetly the best spot to study Czech, obviously. But I've never been, so I can't really tell you too much about it. My friends who've been there loved it though.

Just my 2 cents. Wherever you choose to go, I'm sure you'll have the time of your life!

SeeYa Thomas :D
