Study Chatrooms??

Why dont us cc'ers have AIM chat rooms. I felt it worked really well for the SAT's in march.
If we start something similar, I'm pretty sure it will help us.
We can set up a date and time for each exam sometime in May, and just study/review.

Also I know that many of our AP classes are very challenging. So let's say one of us has an AP test in class, for example on photosynthesis in AP Bio. The person having the test can post (in this thread?) that he is creating a chatroom for this time and day. People who are taking the course, can join the chatroom. They can discuss/help the person out. The problem here is that not every class moves at the same pace so that they have tests at the same time. However, these chatrooms for tests can be a great review. For example, lets say in my AP Bio class we're on genetics. Now someone else has a test on photosynthesis. He posts the date and time for the chatroom, and I decide to join. Why? Because i've already done the chapter, so I can help out, and also so I can get a quick review of the chapter (that I had forgotten).

I know this will work for the AP Tests in May, but not sure about individual tests. Any comments/suggestions?

i agree with your idea

If we can get 3-4 more people that agree with this idea, we can start soon.

I agree. AP Forums should be started.

However, I took AP Biology last year. The last FRQ last year was crazy. I passed the test with a 3.

Also, could we start an AP Chemistry forum?

lets do it for sure

we should actually have CC make chatrooms on here....that will be so much better

^I agree, but that would take a long time probaly. Until then lets do a chatroom, or maybe even a thread??

yeah we shud just ask like the moderators or something

i really like this idea.

Definitely! This is great.

Can we do it on AIM? Just type in the name of the chat and "invite" yourself.

APBio08 = AP Bio?

and so on. . ..

IE one chatroom for Ap Bio all the time whether we're discussing genetics or photosynthesis. No need to create new ones except for other subjects.

Ok sounds good.
Should we schedule the chatrooms in advance? Or should we just create one and join whenever??

Maybe we can use IRC to make these chatrooms for accessible through a browser. We can create a permanent chatroom, but we need to schedule discussions since not everyone will be on at the same time.

^ Yea, I guess we can schedule through this thread?
The format can be:
(Date)
(Approximate Time EST)
(Subject)
(Topic)

Sounds good!

What's IRC? Probably a stupid question, but I've only ever chatted on AIM.

Is it just for AP bio or for other subjects also?

All subjects.
AP Bio was just an example

oh ok
thanks

IRC stands for Internet Relay Chat and can be accessed using a browser based client without any necessary downloads and thus is more accessible than AIM. I'd be willing to make a chatroom on Calc BC, Physics C, Chem, or Computer Science.

I am making a chatroom for AP Enviromental Science.

Date: 3/8
Time: 8:00 pm EST
Name of Chatroom: APES08
Subject: Enviromental Science
Topic:
- Energy Flow in Ecosystems
- Bioeochemical Cycles
- Biodiversity

These are pages 11-19 for those of you who have Smartypants. Hopefully some of you will show up.
Also this I am self-studying this, so I do not have a test on this. This session will be just a review.

I'll join. I'm planning on taking the APES exam but haven't even started learning it yet!
