Why do people say that they studied the day before the test and they got like a 4 or 5? They have been studying ALL YEAR long by going to class and doing the homework etc. And MANY people study the day before the test!!! It's not just THAT studying that gets them a good grade!!!

Many people who are studying independently procrastinate on even cracking open the book and then end up studying the material the day before the exam, yet somehow end up with a 5. This has happened many times to those self-studying for AP psych.

I still don't think that just ONE day of studying gets them a 5.

It's happened. If it's an especially easy AP like psych, then it's possible, if you're good at quick memorization.

My brother self-studied Physics B the day before and got a 5. He knew some physics just from the street though, I guess. :)

Haha.. I had Chem & Psych on the same day.. so I spent all night studying for Chem and no time studying for Psych.. got 5 on both! :D

Also I would like to thank actually attending class of course..

The ultimate test if cramming works for me or not will be what I get on my late test (Environmental..).

It does NOT take ONE day to self-study or even study for a test. You have to have studied a few weeks to get a good score. I doubt all these claims that people ONLY studied the day before and got a 5. That's much exaggeration. Sorry to rant!

I don't know, I've seen a lot of accounts on this board of people studying for a day-2days for psych and getting a 5.

If there was one test you could do it for, it'd be AP Psych

well i did take the US course, but I only studied the day before by myself, and for 12 hrs at that, and I got a 5 :)

I stuided for about 4 days before the Gov exam and got a 5

My son didn't study at all...didn't even crack the books (and got two 5's).

Yep, it's possible.

Talk about a dope - - one guy in my debate club took AP classes at the same time he took community college classes in the same subjects because he wanted to get 5s. Doesn't that kinda defeat the whole purpose? Anyways, I am sure that people who take AP classes could pass with a 5 without extra study, but I think people who self-study for just a night and then get a 5 are few in number for most subjects. I do think it is possible for some subjects though, but haven't we all been preparing our whole academic lives to excel?

I think most people agree it just depends on the test. It'd be a lot harder to self study one day for Calc BC than for Psychology.

Sciencenerd,

Sorry to bust your bubble, but it's possible. I did it on Human Geography the evening before the exam.

A very easy test.

id say its possible for environmental science and psychology for sure.

it's very possible to study for some ap tests in 1 day:
-world history - i did in 3 days, but it was my first ever AP, so i way overdid it.
-calculus (both AB and BC, assuming ure not retarded). i never studied once this year in calculus, including for the AP test, finished with a 97 final average, and got a 5 on the BC test
-computer science (both A and AB). i didn't even know what a queue was until about a week before the AB test, but managed to learn everything over the course of 2 school days (not constant self-studying)
-US gov - could have gotten a 3 without having taken the class or self-studying. i reviewed entire princeton review, which is WAY MORE than enough to get a 5, in 1 day.

i got 5's on all of the above

Environmental Science is ridiculous. Took me exactly four hours. No more, no less.

if you had some excellent classes (like my Calc class which got me a 5 w/o studying independently) yes.

even though I took a full year of AP chem, I never did homework and didnt pay attention in class. In fact, I didnt open my book until a week before the test.

well, thats possible, if you are well prepared in class

but, i don't believe you can study just for one day and get a 5 without any previous knowlege
