Study for the GED test?

Is the GED a reasoning test like the SAT or does it require knowledge of US history, science etc? As an international kid who scored 1800 and 2100 on the SAT should I to study for the GED test? Looks like all I have to do is pass and I'd rather not study and concentrate on homework and tutoring.

No, you require no knowledge. It ends up being more like a reading comprehension test. There’s like science related passages and graphs and stuff and they ask you questions about the information they presented to you.

In my state they force you to take a super long(longer than the actual GED) practice test first before they even allow you to take the GED for real. Perhaps your state has that as well or maybe you can find a practice one somewhere that you could just look over to see. Overall it’s incredibly easy.

If you’re going to be using your GED for college admissions you have to do well. Colleges will see how well you did not just if you passed.

I didn’t realize colleges considered your score. If thats the case I’ll have a look at a practice book at my library before taking the test. Okay then, thanks a lot.

Yeah, in my experience they want the ‘transcript’ which lists your score and percentile in each subject.
