Due to my inability to study during the school year, I have decided to stay in either Madrid or Buenos Aires for a couple of months during the upcoming summer. I have taken the equivalent of six semesters of college spanish, and am wishing to improve my fluency. I'm interested in taking literature/culture courses, as I don't think the grammar/composition classes will be of much use. I was wondering what would be the better choice in the summer? (technically winter in Buenos Aires) I'm concerned it might be so hot in Madrid that I wouldn't be able to explore the city that well.

If you’re more concerned about the weather then buenos aires is a good choice.

A couple things you might wish to consider are the length of time/credits and the cost. European countries are generally more expensive than South American countries. I would think I would want a program with a home stay.

Winter in Bueno Aires is comparable to winter in Los Angeles according to this source:

I’m a big fan of spending time abroad, good luck!

4, OP mentioned in #1 about it being winter in Argentina. This year the winter in SA was unusually harsh. Climate change is everywhere!

Definitely go to Buenos Aires. I just spent 4 months there and had the time of my life.

How liberal/conservative is Buenos Aires?
