Dear CC community,

How are you? Well it would be very kind of you if you could critique my SAT study plan. BTW I am a rising junior and will take the PSAT that matters in fall along with my first SAT.

I have the Blue book and online course and will take one, on paper section of the test per day. I may take two depending on time but probably one.

I will also complete about 20 questions on Testive.com in various study areas. I will not focus all 20 questions on one area.

I will also try to take two to three full length, sit down SATs this summer.

What are your thoughts? My question would be if you think one section per day is enough and if the Testive supplementation is necessary. Also do you think using Testive broadly each day is beneficial.

I realize SAT sudying is subjective I would just like your thoughts.

Thank you!

You will be a Junior in the fall that is.
Did you take the PSAT as a Sophmore? Results.
Can’t determine study plan without knowing your weaknesses. You will need to take a fully timed practice test to determine. Don’t know if you need a comprehensive study guide or subject specific.
You will also need a study guide. The blue book doesn’t do it. Don’t know how good the online course is but I heard it is not that great. You only buy it for the extra tests. However, if you check out the websites I listed, you don’t need extra tests ;).
TheUltimateSATwebsite, officialsatexams, xtremepapers
Other websites to check out: Khan Academy, SAT Quantum, Critical Reader, PWNtheSAT, ReasonPrep

You could check out the stickied threads at the top of this forum . . .

Okay Thank you TomsRiver. I got a 163 on PSAT all about 53 or so. I know my Math was lowest at about 51. What do you suggest as a study guide or mean by study guide? I get what you mean about why the bluebook doesn’t really help.

Did you complete Algebra 2 as Sophomore?
Comprehensive study guide: McGraw Hill or Barrons.
Subject Specific:
Math: Barrons Math or PWNtheSAT
CR: Critical Reader by Erica Meltzer
Writing: Ultimate Guide to SAT Grammer by Erica Meltzer
Essay: PWNtheSAT (when you buy it you register on his website, you can then submit your essays for him to grade)
Lots of stuff on the websites I listed. Check those first before you decide what to purchase. Also, check out Amazon for reviews. Another place for study guide reviews is <a href=“Index « satdude”>http://satdude.■■■■■■■■■■■■■/post-index/

Okay I think I see your point of how you may not need to order book with so much being online. I will probably get the direct hits vocal, but I do not about the Erica Meltzers book because parts are on her website.

Yep.
Lots of Erica Meltzers books is on her website.
Same with PWNtheSAT.
You can download 2009 version of McGrawHill (basically same as 2014 version) from xtremepapers.
