Study vocab and help end world hunger at the same time!

So my high school's valedictorian from last year has been spreading the word about this. It's basically an online vocabulary game you can play (multiple choice). The more words you get right and the longer you play, the larger amount of rice you generate to give to people in need. The rice is paid for by the companies that advertise on the bottom of the screen.

I was kind of doubtful of the legitimacy of this, but someone in the facebook group for it posted a letter they received from the Donor Relations Officer of the UN's World Food Programme confirming that FreeRice is indeed a legit venture!

Check it out!

And for those of you competitive overachievers feel free to post your amount of rice donated or your word level.... because I know someone is probably going to. hahaha.

^I've become addicted. My word level is around 37-38, and the most amount I've donated at a time was like 2,000 grains or so.

Freerice threads have already been posted...

My bad... I'm not on this part of the site often enough to have seen them. lol.

There was a thread about this some time ago. I donated about 8,000 grains and got up to a level of 46.

My English teacher showed us this one day. We spent like half the period doing it, and every time my teacher tried to stop and move onto an actual lesson, we would say "What? You don't care about the starving children in Africa? People could die if we don't keep playing."

yeah that site is really cool

Haha, thats hilarious bts7390.

Kudos to proletarait2 to level 46.. jeeez

Lol this was my extra credit english assignment.
