Recently I've waken up at 5 a.m. to finish up any hw i did not finish the night before, i've found that it's a great time to get some peace and quiet, esp in my house where my little brothers are constantly bothering me and asking for help on hw during the day. Does anyone else do this?

My school starts at 8:15, i'm usually out the boor by 7:45

Not a morning person...no way. I'd rather work until 3AM and sleep through to 6AM than get up at 3AM and work. I just wouldn't function...although I did write an essay earlier this year at about 4AM and got an A in it. So maybe I work really well under pressure. Basically everything I do under severe pressure turns out pretty good.

Otherwise, I have too much senioritis in my system right now.

I'm definitely NOT a morning person. So hard to wake up like in 4AM (or w/e other early morning time), regardless of what time I go to sleep. I'd rather wash my face with cold water. I usu. sleep at 2~2:30ish. Definitely can stay up longer if I have long projects or big tests coming.

I automatically wake up at 5 AM anyway. Recently I've been very tired and been sleeping 'till 6, but still.

I used to do this all the time in middle school though; I'd make some coffee and finish studying for that history test or do that math project write-up.

I am in no way a morning person, but I have found that I sometimes wake up at 4 or 5 in the morning after "resting my eyes" for a few hours. Then I have this momentary freak out and get right to work. Then I either finish it and close my eyes until my alarm clock goes off or I just keep working until I leave.

If I didn't feel like doing anything the night before, but I have something really urgent to do then I'll set my alarm to 1 AM, do it, play on the computer, watch blind date (my guilty late night pleasure) at 4 AM, and then go back to sleep at 4:30 before waking up at 6:30. This tricks my brain into thinking I got my usual 10 hours of sleep until about 6 PM that day, when I usually get really tired.

I don't understand. So you stay up until 1, go back to sleep. Wake up at 4 to watch TV and then go back to sleep at 4:30 and then wake up for school at 6:30?

I used to be like that when I was a Freshman and in Junior High School. But now that I'm an upper-classman, I can't take that risk! What if I don't actually wind up waking early at all?

I used to get up at 5:00 and finish work and it was actually really nice, but recently I have tried it several times and hadn't had enough sleep so 9 times out of 10 I roll over and go back to sleep.

I think its really nice, I don't do it very often, but I love studying while the sun is rising. I did it today though to study for my latin midterm. Also, if you're up early you don't have worry about being late!

I used to do that... but then I realized, if you wake up at 5 AM, even though you will be more refreshed, you have a shorter amount of time to finish your homework/paper/whatever... On the other hand, if you stay up late, you can stay up as late as you need to finish.... So really, it depends on what type of homework it is... if it's a huge paper, stay up. If it's a couple of section review questions, do it in the morning. I actually do concentrate better in the morning, but it's been a while since I've been concerned enough about my homework to trade sleep for it.

I've been awake at that hour about 5 times in my life....and 4 out of 5 times I was on board an airplane. And the other 1 time I had to DRIVE my mom to the airport.
